8 things Nina Dobrev said about her workouts

Actress Nina Dobrev, known for her hit roles in the sitcom. Fam and supernatural drama The Vampire Diaries also a power hitter behind the scenes. In recent years, the former gymnast has spoken about her love of fitness and exercise, which ranges from walking to strength training. But what is certain is that she needs to “sweat somehow every single day.” As she celebrates her new engagement, W.H. shares his favorite tips for moving in this multi-faceted knockout.

1. She maintains a regular workout routine.

Starring Fam give Nina a schedule she calls “the most consistent of my career.” Thanks to this, she was able to maintain a regular workout regimen. This is a significant advantage for Nina, a former gymnast and natural athlete who actually sounds like she means it when she says, “I just enjoy working out.”

2. She trains in different ways.

Nina’s current fitness obsession involves what she likes to call her “workout cocktail” – a mix of yoga, running, strength training, boxing and group classes, depending on the day. “Do something different [each day] was the most fun and I saw the most benefit because you shock your system.” She is now strong and lean instead of “skinny and fat.” [when you look thin but actually have a high body-fat percentage]this is exactly how she felt when she only did hot yoga many years ago.

“I somehow need to sweat every single day, even if it’s just in the steam room.”

3. Most days she walks the dog and sweats.

On a typical morning, Nina gets up a few hours before the bell to walk her dog Maverick, work out, relax in the steam room and take a shower. “I need to sweat somehow every single day, even if it’s just in the steam room,” she says. “Some days are better than others, I’ll be honest with you. Sometimes Maverick takes shorter walks than she probably deserves if I’m late, or don’t have time to get ready, or hit the snooze button 18 times too often.”

4. She takes rest days if necessary.

“Everyone has days off, and if anyone says they don’t, they’re probably lying,” she says. Refinery29. “The key is to take it day by day. If one morning you don’t feel like working out or eating healthy, just take some time for yourself and hit refresh. The morning is wiser than the evening.’

5. It includes elements of split training.

Her Les Mills trainer Lissa Bankston opens up Today about Nina’s favorite workouts. “I usually use what I call push, pull, rotate, where we train the upper body, lower body and core using these three methods. And Nina loves to work on her core and glutes—so there’s always a little finisher to work on her core and glutes!”

6. She built a home gym during Covid.

Talking to Form, it shows that Covid prompted her to turn one of her rooms into a home gym. “I used a personal trainer and relied on many external sources to maintain my fitness, especially because I had previously been very busy with travel and work. But as soon as I was home, I realized that I didn’t have much [gym equipment] home, so I threw myself into the madness.

“I started to slowly, over time, accumulate equipment and things that I could use to workout at home,” including a treadmill and exercise bike.

“It’s really nice to have that flexibility in my workouts, whether it’s very early in the morning before I have to go to the set, or very late in the evening when I’m getting home from the set, or after a long flight.”

7. She multitasks, using exercises to learn her lines.

“When I’m done filming and need to remember work for the next day, I can get on the bike with my script and exercises and learn my lines for the next day,” she says Form.

8. She makes sure she has enough fuel.

Meeting trainer Lissa Bankston also gave Nina an education in nutrition. Nina now consumes more calories than before; she tries to eat every two hours to keep her metabolism stable. “I feel healthier,” she says Women’s health. You’re happier when your body is full, your brain works better, and you’re a nicer person. I think I would have gotten hungry because I was so busy running around that I wasn’t the best version of myself.” She is also more picky about her diet. “I’m getting older and more conscious of what I eat, how I eat it and what I do,” she says.
